Lancaster young advisors is another of Uthink’s core youth projects and are part of the National Young Advisors Orgainsiation.

Young Advisors are young consultants who show community leaders and decision makers how to engage young people in community life, local decision-making and improving services. Any one between the ages of 15 and 24 can be a Young Advisor.
Young Advisors who charge for their work and are both paid themselves and raise money for a pooled budget that they use to invest into their community.

“Young Advisors are trained agents of social action who guide local authorities, housing associations and other local partners about what is like for a young person to live, work, learn and play in their neighbourhood.”

Lancashire safeguarding Project
The Lancaster Young Advisors designed, developed and created a lesson plan based on e-safety that was later delivered by our team to year 5 and 6 students in multiple primary schools across the Lancashire district. The lesson plan covered:-


• Online safety
• Information privacy
• Online gaming
• Social media
• Password protection

Curious Young Advisors
We worked alongside Knowsley Young Advisors and Curious Minds on a central commission based at Young Advisor's headquarters in Manchester. We delivered focus groups to young people in various arts organisations in the North West.

The focus groups were all about online marketing and were conducted in order to improve the marketing of several arts organisations in the north west. Canal and River Trust Commission We worked alongside Cheshire Young Advisors on a central commission to support the Canal and River Trust with their youth engagement.

We delivered a focus group to active young people in Lancaster, based around online websites, social media and the best ways to find and distribute information on the internet.

YthinkAhead
The lancaster young advisors put on a community event named YthinkAhead in March, offering job information, professional CV advise, information about routes into alternative job's, musical performances and more.
